Service Standards for These are
the first of a set of standards to be produced by SHIF. Research
shows that rehabilitation after acquired brain injury (ABI) is effective and
improves recovery and the quality of life for the injured person.
Organised rehabilitation programmes are also cost effective, they can
reduce care costs and let more people return to work. The
standards in this document can be used to set local standards for
rehabilitation. Each one has
criteria which can be used to measure whether the standard has been achieved. They can be widely applied but are likely to be of most
relevance to younger adults with ABI. There is a glossary of terms designed to help people who are not familiar with the terminology used. To see the document in Word format - click here To see
